SUMMARY – TOLEDO: SPANISH AND ART IN THE THREE CULTURES – 2018
Toledo: Spanish and art in the Three Cultures
Intensive course developed in collaboration with the Institute Cervantes, for people who want to improve its knowledge of language and Spanish culture through classes of artistic and historical content focused on the medieval Toledo
The academic program, under the joint leadership of both institutions, considers the teaching in the morning, of the course in the classroom, and its continuation in the afternoon with the monumental classes, which will take place in different locations of the city of Toledo related to the contents of the program.
Through this program, it is favored that the student could know and understand the contributions that, from an artistic context, left the three big cultures in the city of Toledo during the Middle Ages.
The participants, in addition to attend with profit the formative courses of artistical - historical - cultural character, will be able to live an intense period of linguistic immersion and know closely several day-to-day aspects of the Spanish society.
The student carries out this course in Toledo, a city that was a protagonist and participant of this historical moment. The course is held with the support and collaboration of the National Sephardic Museum, The Toledo School of Translators, Israel Sephardic Center, Casa Árabe and the Real Foundation of Toledo.
Some other extra academic activities are also offered (at extra cost) such as a gastronomic workshop and a trip to the Church of Santa Maria de Melque on Saturday morning.
At the end of the course, the student receives an accreditation certificate of the course signed by both institutions (UCLM and Institute Cervantes).
